{mmm.. cake}

I can be longwinded.

I often AM longwinded.

That is not the case today.

This is the cake I’m baking.

I also made it for Christmas.

And for the Christmas before.

And for the Bean’s birthday.

It’s his favorite.

My mom loves it too.

My parents are coming over for supper tonight, so….

THIS is the cake I’m baking.

SheetCake
One lil note..

When you read the recipe, try NOT to have palpitations.

Yes, it takes just 2 Tablespoons shy of ONE POUND of butter.

mmmm.. buttuh…

However, this cake is HUGE*

And you’ll only eat a teeny slice b/c of it’s decadent richness.

You’ll have so much you’ll be begging people to take it away.

But you won’t really mean it.

You’ll want to hoard it for yourself.

And hug it, and kiss it, and… you know what kissing cake leads to…..

EATING IT.

With a whisk and a dream… Tina

*standard sheet size (aka jelly roll pan) is 10 1/2 x 15 1/2 x 1 – making a HUGE (though thin) cake.

{These cookies look like Christmas!}

People love to go shopping in the days following Christmas.

I’m not one of them.

Eventually, I’ll crawl out of my post-holiday hole and wander to the store.

Like most other people in this country, I head right to the 50% off Christmas clearance. I don’t buy

decorations though. I don’t buy huge gift baskets that my husband’s cousin would just love next year, no…

I look for candy.

Yep, green and red, red and green. I care not. It’s an m&m. It’s a Hershey’s kiss.

They taste the same, and of course, most importantly…

they bake the same.

Do you think anyone cares, that, in mid-February their cookies have red and green m&ms?

I don’t.

And if they do…. I advise they put down the cookie and back away slowly. :D

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that 2011 blesses you with many good things and many sweet moments.

Thanks for joining me in 2010, I hope you’ll stick around for more gooey goodness this year!
